Summary
This course supports primary teachers and leaders to enhance their climate change education through the lens of STEM. You will explore how scientific knowledge and enquiry can empower young people to make informed decisions about their future and the future of the planet. The session encourages reflection on the purpose of primary science and consider how climate and sustainability topics align with curriculum outcomes and age-appropriate learning.
You will explore how to design and deliver hands-on, enquiry-based activities that make climate learning engaging and meaningful. Using real-world contexts, develop strategies for your teaching to connect climate concepts with enquiry skills.
You will be introduced to a practical framework for integrating climate change education across your teaching practice. With a focus on building strong foundations, connecting to nature, and promoting positive action, the session will equip you with the knowledge and skills to incorporate climate education in your teaching and prepare pupils to become proactive stewards of the environment.
