Artificial intelligence is becoming an integral part of education, influencing how teachers plan, adapt and deliver learning. This course provides primary teachers with a clear, accessible introduction to AI and its relevance to everyday practice. You will explore what AI is, how it works at a basic level, and the opportunities and limitations it brings to the primary classroom..
Through the sessions, you will explore practical ways AI can support lesson planning, resource creation and adaptive teaching, helping to meet the diverse needs of learners. You will also consider how to embed AI literacy across the curriculum, enabling pupils to develop critical thinking around digital content. Guidance on appropriate use of AI in school, including age- appropriate use, data protection, and supporting parents with information around AI.
Within the course you will look at examples of workload reduction, such as assessment, report writing and planning, considering how to integrate AI where it provides genuine value in your school.
