Money Activities Games Pack
The games in this pack, from Shropshire Centre for Mathematics Education, provides students with repeated opportunities to develop skills of counting and exchanging coins, as well as adding coin values mentally. Several of the games can also be extended into puzzles and investigations.
Exchange games - collect and exchange sets of coins for equivalent coins of higher denomination
Money bingo - matching coins to amounts of money specified on a card
Around the track - place coins randomly on the board and win them by throwing a dice
Collect 10p - match cards which total to 10p
Make 10p or £1 - throw appropriate dice and either place or remove coins from a board
Make the right amount - throw a dice and make up an amount using that particular number of coins
Same amount or number of cards - match amounts with the same number of coins
Steer the number - take turns to add or remove coins to make a given amount
Lines - complete lines, in any direction, to make a target total
Great spender - make a sum of money with the number of coins shown on a dice
