What is the carbon cycle
Students investigate and evaluate the development of new technologies to reduce pollution from combustion: catalytic converters, electric cars and fuel cells. Cradle to grave cycles of use are considered, such as the use of incineration of waste to produce electricity for transport.
Learning outcomes:
- Students must name technological developments for the reduction of pollution from public transport.
- Students could critically evaluate the information on different technological solutions to pollution due to transport.
- They should describe the natural carbon cycle and human contribution to this. Students should describe how some technological developments are able to clean up fuel emissions.
This resource is part of a full set of lessons looking at different fuels and their contribution to pollution found here
