GCSE Student Booster - Bit Shifting and Hexadecimal (Post-event materials)
In this online session on number representation, you will have learned about binary shift operations and the key role they play in CPU processing. You will have been introduced to base 16 (hexadecimal) and found out why it’s used, with methods for converting between it and other number bases.
By the end of this 90-minute session, you will have:
- Been able to perform left and right binary shifts
- Reviewed number systems used in computing and been able to perform basic arithmetic operations
- Learned why hexadecimal is used and its advantages
- Learned how to convert between the number systems, binary, denary and hexadecimal
