People maths: hidden depths

People mathematics uses people to form the moving pieces of a mathematical activity, be it a puzzle, a sum, a diagram or a demonstration. These activities have the potential for rich mathematical exploration and investigation. The emphasis is on discussion within the group taking part. The need for such discussion to take place makes these activities an invaluable resource for teachers and of immediate appeal to learners.

The book contains 43 different activities, and note on some of the activities and additional places to look for ideas. Teachers of pupils and of adults of all ages will therefore find within this book activities to promote and proclaim the joy of learning and doing mathematics.
